August means summer is on its way out, so folks made the most of a warm afternoon and got a little wet with water shooters and water balloons on the patio! This group knows how to have fun! They also enjoyed husking – and eating – sweet corn, that wonderful end-of-summer treat. Kerin from Schreiner Memorial Library shared newspaper articles from the past, and Highland elementary teacher Kirsten gave a fascinating presentation on Monarch butterflies. Police Chief Deb Reukauf also came and talked about how to avoid scams and folks played cards and saw old friendsat the Lancaster Senior Center. A big thank you to Rech Family Gardens for donating flowers so everyone could make their own beautiful bouquets. Staff put on a delightful Hawaiian Luau, including a delicious tropical meal, and the Red Hatters brought lots of fun and laughter. To view photos, please click on the web album link below.
