Local teachers help Morningside seniors glaze ceramic mugs.

February means celebrations for Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras – and this year Leap Day was added into the fun! There were also some wonderful visits from community members - Doreen presented on her trip to Africa and Grant County Correctional Officer Cassara and K9 Therapy Dog Zelda came and said hello. Everyone thought it was fascinating to learn what Zelda does each day. Folks took the bus to a rehearsal of the Lancaster High School Choir Cabaret, and it was such a treat to hear these talented teens! Two former local teachers helped folks glaze coffee mugs, fired them in their kiln and brought back the beautiful finished masterpieces. Everyone looks forward to using their unique creations. Mrs. Wiest’s second grade class from Saint Clement School played a rousing game of “Go Fish” with folks, and the month ended with an amazing visit from Mia the Alpaca and Oliver the Kangaroo from Tiny Acres Farms in Muscoda.
