The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Alliance and the Grant County Dementia Care Network are excited to offer an ‘Understanding Alzheimer’s Disease, Dementia and Memory Loss Workshop.’ Family members, direct care workers and professionals have the opportunity to learn the latest information and resources about Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and person centered care through informative and interactive presentations. Morningside is proud to be part of the Grant County Dementia Care Network.
Featured presenters include Rachelle L. Blough, Certified Recreational Therapist, Dementia Practitioner and Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer for the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP); Robert Smith, M.D., The Richland Medical Center and the Geriatric Assessment Clinic; and Sarah Endicott, DNP, UW Madison School of Nursing and Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute.
Additional break-out sessions are offered on aspects of creating a dementia friendly hospital and caring for the caregiver.
Registration fee is $25 and includes breakfast and lunch. Respite care and scholarships are available for family caregivers. Respite care must be scheduled in advance by contacting ADAW (608.723.4288) or ADRC (608.723.6113) by March 1, 2018.
